The epicentre of food-as-rollercoaster, El Bulli is where the virus of molecular gastronomy was born. The restaurant is far from the ponce-fest granduer of the 'Paracetamol and Owl Risotto with Pea Foam' set, El Bulli is a laboratory pushing your senses way out beyond fashionland. You ain't getting a review as theres a 2 year waiting list, meanwhile watch the |
Decoding Ferran Adria DVD, marvel at this. Or go to chef Ferran Adria's burger joint |

my sister ate there recently; she said it was mind-blowing- one waiter per person, each course is like a performance... and there were 27 of them(!) yet she didn't feel too full afterwards. I'd love to go but you gotta know the right people to get past the 2 year waiting list.

It looks totally amazing, the company owned by Ferrán Adriá and others associated with El Bulli also run another slightly more modest (and more open to book) place near Girona, we ate there this summer and I instantly put it on my 'axis of romance'. Loads of courses and each a journey, honestly, its worth a trip just for one of them.
